Summer Academy
Summer Academy (K-5) & Summer School (6-8)
Summer Academy for elementary school students going into kindergarten through grade 5 and Summer School for middle school students going into grades 6-8 provides opportunities to build academic, social, and emotional skills for the next school year. Students in the program will receive free busing, breakfast, and lunch. Students are invited to Summer Academy or Summer School through their teacher.
The state-funded targeted services programs offers additional learning opportunities to eligible students over four weeks in the summer. Students qualify and are eligible for participation based on state targeted services criteria:
- Demonstration of academic performance significantly below grade-level expectations,
- At-risk for failing to meet the state’s academic content standards,
- Having limited English proficiency, and/or
- having behavioral or mental health needs that may put students at risk of not being successful in school
